Our Implementation Partners

Right To Play

The Outreach Society has partnered with Right to Play since 2016 to support their Promoting Life-Skills in Aboriginal Youth program across Western Canada.  Our team works and volunteers at Right to Play Youth Symposiums, with Right to Play Community Partners, and with RTP staff.   We are grateful to the RTP staff for supporting our initiatives and collaborating to promote healthy communities and youth leadership.

The Canadian Red Cross

The Outreach Society is a proud training partner with the Canadian Red Cross to deliver their training programs to the communities who invite us to work with them.  We are able to offer Red Cross’ First Aid programs as well as their community and youth based programming such as Water Safety Instructor, Physiological First Aid Marine First Aid, and babysitting courses.

Lifesaving Society

The Lifesaving Society was the first partner of the Lifeguard Outreach Society and we have worked together to deliver drowning prevention, lifesaving, and first aid training to thousands of participants.  In partnership we  organized Swim to Survive Day’s in Vancouver in 2016 and 2017 highlighting the vulnerability of children around water and preparing Vancouver youth to have a safe summer around water.

Toward the Heart

Toward the Heart is part of the BC Centre for Disease Control. Their mission is to ensure every person has the right to the best health possible and should be treated with dignity and respect.  Their work focuses on harm reduction which research shows harm reduction activities do not encourage substance use but are more likely than other methods to encourage people who use substances to start treatment.  The Outreach Society works with Toward the Heart to distribute Take Home Naloxone Kits and train community members to use those kits to assist someone experiencing an overdose.

Center for Disease Control

The BC Centre for Disease Control provides provincial and national leadership in disease surveillance, detection, treatment, prevention and consultation.  BC Center for Disease Control through their Toward the Heart program has approved The Outreach Society to distribute and train people in the use of Take Home Naloxone Kits.  As our team works in isolated BC, CDC will work with our logistics team to distribute Take Home Naloxone through our outreach teams.

Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award empowers young people, ages 14 to 25, to give back to their communities, explore their interests and passions, commit to their health and wellness, and gain an appreciation for the natural environment.  The Outreach Society is proud to be part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s award program; many of our volunteers and emerging leaders are completing their Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards. We believing that youth should be recognized for and celebrated for engaging in volunteering, pushing their horizons, challenging themselves intellectually and physically, and exploring the mountains, rivers, lakes, forest, and ocean around us.
